October, at last

So it is October now. The waiting is over. Our favorite season is finally here, and our favorite holiday is only in a matter of days. It's strange how I wait anxiously all year long for this time of year , thinking and dreaming about Halloween, and all the exciting things I'm going to do to celebrate it. Then, when it finally comes around, I feel like it got here so suddenly that I don't have enough time to do everything I wanted to do to prepare for it. That always bums me out. I love almost nothing more than to celebrate this time of year. Things have not been great lately, though, and I am finding that a lot of things that I had looked forward to are sadly not going to happen. I am hoping that this, my most favorite month out of the year, will bring me out of the awful funk I've been in for several months now.

I love Halloween images. I search the 'Net all throughout the year searching for them. One of my favorites are the ones of glowing jack-o-lanterns. I found some cool images this morning that I thought were worthy of adding to this blog, as a way of welcoming in October. (See below.)

I know what you mean about the time thing. I should probably be down in the garage right now finishing painting my 20 new tombstones instead of sitting here on the computer... or at least doing my homework, which I always put off until the last minute. I hope things get better for you real soon. Enjoy the month of October!

Thank you! Well, for the first time today the weather was finally quite a bit cooler, and much more fall-like. :) I love that first day that really feels like Fall has arrived. It's supposed to really cool down starting tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it! It's almost time to start getting out the sweaters and long-sleeve shirts.

The last two nights have been cool here, it was 44 the night before last and 41 last night. The days are perfect with a little breeze blowing. I had two of my monster mud men standing outside my garage yesterday and the wind blew one of them over right onto the hood of my car :(... put a couple of scratches on it but I think I can buff them out, I was more worried that my prop had gotten damaged, but it was fine.

Oh, glad your prop is alright. Yep, we actually have rain in the forecast today. I can't even remember when we last had any rain. It is quite cool today, and I love it. I always love that first day when Fall finally reveals itself. :)

I know exactly what you mean. I anticipate Halloween for weeks, even months, and then suddenly I look at the calendar and think, uh-oh, I'm almost out of time, I'll never get everything done! Try to enjoy the season and hopefully everything else will work out :)

Halloween Spirit--thanks for the kind words! :) I still feel like it can't really be October. We anticipate this month all year long, and when it's finally here, it doesn't seem real somehow. Funny. We are having some rain for the first time this season, and I am loving it. I love the smell in the air after that first rain. If Fall had a scent, that would be it.
