Haunted attraction

I discovered a new haunt to check out this year, and I really think it looks like a good one! I love going to haunts every Halloween. It's probably my favorite thing to do to celebrate the holiday. There's just nothing quite like getting in costume (assuming the haunt allows you to dress up) and going with friends and getting spooked by a bunch of costumed characters, scary music, and, if you're lucky, a truly spooky haunted attraction. I didn't make it to any haunts last year, so I'm hoping Callson Manor will quench my thirst for something really spooktacular!

I can't believe Halloween is almost upon us! It's almost like there's a part of me that doesn't want it to get here *too* quickly because it's always kind of depressing when it's over. I think it's mostly the excitement and anticipation of waiting for it...knowing it's coming....and the thrill of getting ready with decorations, costumes, party plans, etc. That's what really does it for me. I love to see scarecrows and pumpkins on porches, and witches crashed into front doors as I drive by peoples' houses. I love the pumpkin patches along the side of the road, with hay bales and scarecrows which seem to beckon to onlookers to stop and pick a pumpkin. What a wonderful time of the year! Let's enjoy it while it lasts. :)

I know just how you feel. We wait all year, then the anticipation builds during Aug and Sept. But October always seems to come and go way too quickly for me. This year I am trying not to pack as much into it as I usually do and see if I can't just hang loose and enjoy! But I know it will come and go in the blink of an eye...and then I'll mourn it until this time next year! If you go to the new attraction, be sure to post your thoughts on how you liked it. :o)

Hi, Wendy! Yep, October sure does seem like it goes by too quickly. It's funny how I wait for the summer months to go by fast because I get tired of the heat and can't wait until Fall, and those months seem to take forever to pass. When it comes to my favorite months, however, like October-December, they seem to fly so fast! I almost get the feeling that I barely had a chance to enjoy them. All the more reason to enjoy them while we can, though!

Too bad we can't put the month of October on slow-mo huh? Or even go the whole month without needing sleep...that would work too! Ha! Well try to enjoy every minute you can because the wait til' this time next year will be a long one like you said! ;o)

Can you believe October is almost halfway over already?? I can't. There is a large tent thingy that was put up just recently right along the freeway that I think is going to be used for pumpkins. We saw some hay/straw bales today, so I'm sure there is going to be tons of pumpkins before too long. I love this time of year when you see pumpkins everywhere! I love that not long after Halloween you start to see Christmas trees where all the pumpkins used to be. It's like one fun holiday after another. That's what I so love about this time of year. So much to look forward to!

You and I are kindred spirits in the holiday department. I've always loved Sep thru Dec. All the best holidays, fun things to look forward to each month. And YES...the pumpkin stands followed closely by Christmas Tree stands. Ever since I was a young girl, I've always lived my life season to season, holiday to holiday. To me those were the good times that came between the boring waiting times...ha! Plus, I love themes.

And although I love any holiday, I'm not nearly as fond of the Spring and Summer holidays, as I am the Fall and Winter ones. I just wish I lived up in New England, or someplace where the Fall and Winter seasons REALLY feel and look like Fall and Winter. It just makes me happy!

But after New Year's....I get into a bit of a funk. I despise the Winter months when nothing fun is really going on, and I don't start coming out of it until Spring arrives.

I can't believe it's already half over....that's just crazy. Halloween is in just over 2 weeks. And there is still so much I want to do. {sigh} I wish that the days would drag by like they did when I was young, instead of zooming by at warp speed. I vow to try any enjoy each minute until Nov. 2. Then I will mourn its passing and look ahead to the Christmas holidays...but never with as much anticipation as I do Autumn! :o)

PS...I think about you when we light pumpkins around here, because it reminds me of one of your old posts about the smell of cinnamon on the lit pumpkin, and having one in the bedroom smelling good and casting shadows on the wall. I thought that was such a fantastic idea. :o)

Wow, yes, we do sound like kindred spirits! Too bad we can't meet in person. We'd have quite a bit in common, it sounds like! Where are you located?

I am the only person I know who feels this way about Fall and holidays. Everyone else is like, "Christmas, oh I'm not ready!" while I am as giddy as a
10-year old awaiting its arrival! I'm flattered that my post makes you think of me when you light pumpkins! :) I have a faux pumpkin in my room right now. I carved a creepy face into it about a month ago, and put a strobe pumpkin light in it. It looks super creepy! It casts this evil face onto the ceiling. hehe

Oh, funny how you mentioned living in New England, too, because I have thought the very same thing. I would love to live where it snows every Christmas, and where I could have an old-fashioned sled that my horse could pull. I love the thought of that. So dreamy!

Well hello...it's officially HALLOWEEN! I'm just now heading off to bed to get some shut eye before all the big festivities! But I wanted to stop by here and wish you a Most Enchanting Halloween! I've been so busy, and the month as gone by so fast it makes my head spin. And I am already feeling those post Halloween blues sinking in! :o(

It looks like you've been busy too, as I haven't seen many posts from you. The weather here in Central Florida is actually cool tonight and will be perfect for Halloween trick or treating! I hope the weather is good for you too! All my best, on this All Hallow's Eve! :o)

Happy Halloween to you, too, Wendy! I know, I keep thinking how after today it's all over. :(
