A White Halloween

Yesterday morning, I woke up to this beautiful sight. We rarely get snow around here, so it was quite a treat. I realize that snow and Halloween don't usually go hand-in-hand, but it got me to thinking about how cool it would actually be to see brightly lit jack-o-lanterns glowing against a blanket of freshly fallen snow. It always seems so surreal to see our home and our streets covered in the stark whiteness of winter. I love it. I always wish it would snow for Christmas, but it never has. I thought of how unusual it would be to combine the two--snow and Halloween--because of the contrast between them. What an interesting sight that would be! We are supposed to have another storm heading our way tonight, and there is a possibility of getting more snow. I am hoping for it. I think that I will put out one of my jack-0-lanterns just to enjoy the sight of the two of them together-- if only for this one, rare time.

Freshly fallen snow is indeed beautiful. Although I don't think I'd want it for Halloween since I spend the evening outside greeting trick-or-treaters. Brrrrrrr.

Also, after three months of living under a layer of white, snow is quickly losing it's appeal :D

Ahh, you live in one of *those* places! LOL That is, where it snows A LOT. I kind of envy you, actually. I wish it would snow more here in December. I'm not saying I wish it would snow on Halloween! It wouldn't be fitting. But I do think that the glow of the jack-o-lantern against the sparkling, white snow might be kind of cool.

True . . . if only it would go away again after a day or two :)

I just always wish for a white Christmas, but we don't get snow here at that time. If we get any at all, it's usually in January or February. I guess I'm kind of old-fashioned. I love the idea of riding in a horse-drawn sleigh around Christmas time and all that stuff! LOL

Here, in Quebec, it happen to snow on Halloween about one year on two. When it happens, there are less trick-or-treaters which is a shame, really. Where I live, almost every Christmas are white but I get bored quickly of snow once I have shoveled my entry a couple of time. :-)
